The Event & Livestock Stewardship Division adapts Iron Ridge Rangers' core competencies of ground-truth observation, infrastructure integrity, and risk mitigation to the high-stakes environment of regional PRCA rodeos, county fairs, and elite equestrian events.
We serve as a contracted, third-party husbandry resource for rodeo committees and stock contractors, ensuring uncompromising animal welfare, continuous water management, and back-pen infrastructure integrity.
Core Fiduciary & Husbandry Operations
Welfare & Hydration Management
Continuous oversight of holding pens to ensure all roughstock, timed-event cattle, and saddle horses have access to clean, functioning water points. Immediate troubleshooting of overturned troughs, broken float valves, or fouled water.
Livestock Stress Observation
Ground-level monitoring for cast animals, agitated pen behavior, or distressed stock, allowing stock contractors to make immediate husbandry decisions before a situation escalates.
Gate & Pen Integrity
Ensuring all back-pen gates, latches, and fencing remain intact and closed, preventing accidental livestock escapes and maintaining a calm, low-stress environment for the animals.
Logistical Support
Assisting stock contractors with the orderly, low-stress receiving and shipping (load-in / load-out) of livestock to maintain event timelines and animal safety.

2027 Stewardship Fee Schedule

| Standard Day Rate | Single-day coverage for 1-day events, jackpot ropings, or county fair overflow. Includes one (1) Ranger for up to a 10-hour shift focused on back-pen logistics and water troubleshooting. | $550 / Day |
| Overnight Welfare & Husbandry | Dedicated overnight monitoring (8 PM - 6 AM). Ensures stock remain settled, water troughs stay full, and gate latches remain secure through the night. | $650 / Night |
| Emergency Water/Feed Run | Flat rate for dispatching Iron Ridge trucks to haul emergency water or hay if on-site infrastructure fails or the stock contractor runs short during a performance. | $250 + Materials |
Community & Philanthropy: Pro Bono Stewardship
Iron Ridge Rangers is deeply committed to the High Plains agricultural community. Subject to operational availability, we offer our Event & Livestock Stewardship services free of charge for registered charity rodeos, youth agricultural events (e.g., local 4-H/FFA finals), and memorial ropings. Please contact Division Command early in the season to secure calendar availability.
Contract & Liability Terms
- Institutional Insurance: All event operations are fully covered under Iron Ridge Rangers' $3,000,000 Commercial General Liability policy.
- Scope of Work Restriction: Iron Ridge Rangers do not assume ownership liability of the animals at any time. If human trespass or altercation occurs, IRR personnel will secure the livestock and immediately notify designated event security/law enforcement.
- Retainer Policy: A 50% non-refundable scheduling deposit is required 60 days prior to the event's first slack performance to lock in the dates.
